Disappointment brings dissatisfaction and feelings of failure. When a person experiences these, they often focus is on the disappointment and the outcome itself.
I'd like to encourage you to focus on our hope that never brings disappointment.
As Romans 5:5 tells us: Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.
I heard a song the other day and even though I have heard it before, for the first time I listened to the lyrics and it blessed my heart. I thought it might also bless your heart...
It's called "Hope in front of me" by Danny Gokey
I’ve been running through rain that I thought would never endTrying to make it on faithIn a struggle against the windI’ve seen the dark and the broken places but I know in my soulNo matter how bad it gets I’ll be alrightThere’s hope in front of me There’s a light, I still see itThere’s a hand still holding meEven when I don’t believe itI might be down but I’m not dead There’s better days still up aheadEven after all I’ve seen There’s hope in front of meThere’s a place at the end of the storm You finally findWhere the hurt and the tears and the pain All fall behindYou open up your eyes and up ahead There’s a big sun shiningRight then and there you realize You’ll be alrightThere’s hope in front of me There’s a light, I still see itThere’s a hand still holding me Even when I don’t believe itI might be down but I’m not dead There’s better days still up aheadEven after all I’ve seen There’s hope in front of meThere’s a hope still burning I can feel it rising trough the nightAnd my world’s still turning I can feel your love here by my sideYou’re my hopeYou’re the light, I still see itYour hands are holding meEven when I don’t believe itI’ve got to believeI still have hopeYou are my hope
