Let Sleeping Dogs Lie...

 Anyone else like to use their dogs as a bed warmer? Thankfully our one pup, Missy May allows me to pull her close to me so I can get warm. The only problem is with three layers of blankets after a few minutes she wants to move over. She prefers one blanket opposed to three! Last night the poor creature got so warm she started panting, so I had to let go of the death grip I held her in. If you're wondering why I'm so cold it's because my husband hasn't turned on our furnace yet. Yesterday when I got up the thermostat read 54 degrees in the living room. The only one it doesn't seem to bother is Mindy Lou our sheltie, she seems to thrive in cold weather.

We do have an Eden Pure quartz infrared portable heater in the living room we use. But I can't seem to get myself to leave it on while I'm sleeping.

You see turning on the furnace at our house isn't flipping a switch or changing the setting on the thermostat. It takes 3 - 4 hours of fueling up our outside wood furnace and who knows what else before we get heat, well my husband knows [thank God]!

So today I informed him that it was beginning to get uncomfortable at night and in the mornings. So he is going to fire it up tomorrow.

I'm sure Missy May will be thankful, she is beginning to curl up on the bed as far away from me as possible with a desperate yet hopeful look that her mom will let sleeping dogs lie.
