1 John 3 verses 2 and 3 August 28 2018
“Beloved, we are God’s children now, and what we will be has
not yet appeared; but we know that when he appears we shall be like him,
because we shall see him as he is. And everyone who thus hopes in him purifies himself
as he is pure.”
If you are a believer, then you have the Holy Spirit
dwelling within you.
And He desires to produce the fruits of righteousness and the
freedom that Jesus’ sacrifice provided for us…
We’ve been made clean and given a new nature by which we can
live freed from the enslavement to sin.
Paul writes in Romans 6:6-7, “We know that our old self was
crucified with [Jesus] in order that the body of sin might be brought to
nothing, so that we would no longer be enslaved to sin. For one who has died
has been set free from sin.”
In order to experience this freedom that we have been given
in Christ…
We must spend time allowing God to give us a fresh
perspective each and every day...
Freedom was bought for us by the blood of Jesus - but is
experienced only through our willingness to allow God to transform and heal us…
[on the inside]
However, our hearts must be open to Him by allowing the Lord
to lead us forward… not backward…
God wants to lead us away from our past mistakes – our past
sins – the past memories and hurts… and guide us into his present and perfect
will…
Going forward, pleasing Him in our daily walk…
But for us do accomplish that we must be willing to open our
hearts to Him and allow the Lord to heal our wounds of the past that so easily
keep us from moving forward with Him…
We have been given the ability to be overcomers…
As 1 John 4:4 tells us:
Little children, you are from God and have overcome them,
for he who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.
And in 1 John 5:4:
For everyone who has been born of God overcomes the world.
And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith.
We [you & I] have been called out from a life of simply
“getting by” into a greater pursuit that transforms the hearts and lives of
people for God’s eternal glory.
God Bless... and enjoy the video!
