Pimento Cheese Spread Recipe😋The Future Starts Now

THE FUTURE STARTS NOW

‘Then (Jesus) said to them, “Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; life does not consist in an abundance of possessions.”’ – Luke 12: 15

Jesus made this statement back in the 1st century, but it couldn’t be more relevant today.

To make His point, Jesus told a story: A rich man had run out of room to store his crops. So, he decided to tear down his current barn and build a much larger one in its place. THEN, he would eat, drink, and be merry the rest of his days. Little did he know that his last day would be that very night, and he would never see those carefree days.

This rich man could be many of us today. He was materially wealthy, and yet spiritually poor.

Maybe you’ve done pretty well for yourself and you’ve built up a nice nest egg, just waiting for the day you can relax and enjoy the rewards of all your hard work.

For others, maybe you’re focused on experiencing all that life has to offer right now. You’re living in the moment but failing to consider the impact today has on tomorrow.  Jesus would argue that you’re both missing the point.

It’s easier than we may want to believe for a believer to take their eyes off the spiritual to concentrate on the temporal – or to look away from heavenly things and direct our attentions to earthly pursuits.

The child of God is to have an eternal perspective, and our hope of a reward laid up for us in heaven, should be a far greater incentive for us to live a life that is pleasing to the Father - than the accumulation of things that will soon pass away in this world.

But too often we are pulled into worldly pursuits, worldly ways and covetous attitudes.

Which is why we must remember to keep an eternal perspective…

For the things of the world are passing away – while the things of heaven are eternal.

Life is more than our stuff.

Life happens and unfortunately many people fill up churches, professing to follow Jesus, yet their lives betray them.

They trust more in their bank account or in temporary experiences – the things of this world – than they trust in God.

And all the while, God is asking us to trust Him to show us how to live our most meaningful lives today…and in the days to come.

God bless!😊💗✝️🕊️ 🙏🏻
