Honey Gingerbread cookies🎄Finding Christmas

Hebrews 11:6 FINDING JESUS THIS CHRISTMAS

Hebrews 11:6, “And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him.”

Parties, presents, music, and food … It’s easy to get distracted and miss the real meaning of Christmas.

And yet at that first Christmas, we read about those who found it.

The first were…

The Shepherds: Now, these were the social nobodies. And yet, God chose to send them a supernatural birth announcement, personally delivered by a host of angels. Astonished as they were at all they had witnessed; they chose to believe and went in search of Jesus. And they found Him. They found Christmas.

And the next were…

The Wise Men: Another unexpected choice were these foreigners, from another culture. Studying the stars for insight, God spoke to them. Stepping out in faith, they followed a star that appeared in the sky – thinking that it meant the birth of a special king. And when they found Jesus – they found Christmas.

The wise men’s story is shrouded in secrecy. Their origin is unclear. They meet Jesus under the cloak of night to worship privately (Matthew 2:11).

The shepherds, on the other hand, go public with their adoration of the newborn babe. They “spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child” (Luke 2:17) and went around the area “glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen” (verse 20).

Our worship of Jesus should begin privately, in our personal prayer time. But the outward extension of that should be public identification with Him. And we should never be afraid to acknowledge Jesus to the world (Luke 12:8).

Give God the highest place in your life this Christmas. Understand, first hand, what the real meaning of Christmas is.

Just “thinking about it,” or going through the motions of the holiday do not make one a Christian. It requires that we take action, yielding the highest place in our life to Christ.

Accept that this baby, born in a manger, came to earth to pay your debt. And allow the peace, “which transcends all understanding” (Philippians 4:7), enter your heart this Christmas… and enter the new year a changed person.

Bearing in mind, the 'True' Christmas story, was what led to the 'True' Easter story...

Life Happens and remember…

The shepherds found Christmas because they believed in the Word of God.

The wise men found Christmas because they sought out Jesus.

The same can be true for you and for me.

When we believe God’s Word and meet Jesus as our personal Savior and Lord, we too can experience TRUE Christmas – God Bless, and Merry Christmas.
