Today we are looking at the
word “GRACE.”
Frederick Buechner is
quoted as saying: “Like any other gift, the gift of grace can be ours only if we
will reach out and take it and perhaps being able to reach out and take it is a
gift too.”
Now, in context, this
gentleman was speaking about the gift of Salvation that Christ provides for us.
But grace is a gift from God, given to us… its unmerited divine assistance given to an individual, to regenerate and sanctify, to inspire, and to impart strength to endure trial and resist temptation.
But grace is a gift from God, given to us… its unmerited divine assistance given to an individual, to regenerate and sanctify, to inspire, and to impart strength to endure trial and resist temptation.
To sum it up - Grace is God's
sufficiency (or God's fullness) in the life of the believer.
Yet, there are times when
our day to day lives can be difficult.
Not necessarily that what
we do is difficult, …but in times of fear it can be difficult to have strong
faith, especially when there is so much uncertainty in the world like we are
experiencing with this pandemic… it is hard not to let this influence our
thoughts.
However, God knew that we
would face this situation and we must look to the Lord; for He is our
sufficiency.
We are told in 2
Corinthians 12:9, "My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is
made perfect in weakness"
You see, the grace of God
enables us and empowers us in our weakness and in our fears. And He will
provide the strength to endure this trial.
So today I want each one
of us to remember that the Lord Jesus Christ is enough for us no matter what
situation we face. His grace is sufficient!
I looked up some synonyms
for the word “Grace” and here are a few:
kindness
favor
mercy
charity
benevolence
reprieve
forgiveness
compassion
generosity
goodness
love
tenderness
forbearance
pardon
responsiveness
good will
Wow and that was just a
few that I wrote down.
So, be sure to set some
time aside to pray to the Lord, to boldly come before His Throne of grace and
tarry in His presence and allow Him to fill you with His confidence and love.
Remember: LIFE
HAPPENS – LET’S ENJOY IT
And think on this:
Grace is God giving the
greatest treasure to the least deserving—which is every one of us.
