2 Thessalonians 1: 11 - 12
To this end we always pray for you, that our
God may make you worthy of his calling and may fulfill every resolve for good
and every work of faith by his power, so the name of the Lord may be glorified in you, and you in Him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.
In today’s scripture verses, we can clearly
see that Paul doesn’t pray for material things.
He isn’t praying for consumable things…
His prayers are much
deeper than that.
Let's read again to how he prays in today’s scripture verses:
To this end we
always pray for you, that our God may make you worthy of his calling and may
fulfill every resolve for good and every work of faith by his power, so that the name
of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you, and you in him, according to the
grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.
There’s nothing
material in that prayer.
There’s nothing
consumable in that prayer.
There’s
nothing self-gratifying about that prayer.
True prayer is
learning to think God’s thoughts after Him… learning to love what God loves.
The deeper our
prayer life... the more it lines up with God’s Will and God’s longings and His
desires for our life...
