Murphy's Law - yet "I Believe"!

In my last post I spoke about the cold temperatures and our pups. . .  in this post I want to talk about "Murphy's Law" and the difficult time this winter has been on us. Yet I Believe!

It started out with our pup Mindy Lou. I noticed a lump appear on the side of her face and immediately called our vet. She had an abscessed tooth and we scheduled a date for her tooth to be extracted. On the Saturday evening [before her surgery which was to be on Monday morning] it burst open on the side of her face and was oozing liquid and pus.  All I can say about that is – HORRIBLE! Then a few days before her return checkup I discovered a [large] lump under Missy’s front leg, which turned out to be a fatty mass. So over $900 later we know that a fatty mass is completely normal in middle aged and senior dogs and is not anything to be concerned about, and Mindy Lou has had better dental care then me or my husband!

For my husband and I this was just the beginning.
Murphy’s Law states, “Whatever can go wrong, will go wrong.”
Here’s just a sampling of what has gone wrong:
*We went through three times the normal amount of wood because of the extreme cold temps. We had to purchase wood 3 times since February (normally we have enough to last the whole season).
*Our vacuum cleaner broke (it was about 5 years old). And I hate the one we replaced it with!
*The grate on the stove broke (yep, I dropped it) It will cost $155 to replace.
*The car won’t go forward or backward; it is still at the repair shop?????
*The basement flooded with 4-5 inches of ground water because the French drains were plugged and we didn’t have the sump-pump plugged in! It cost $250 to have them cleaned out. We still haven’t assessed the damage.

This is just some of the difficulties we've had.
However there is a song that helped me get through the difficult times. The words to it are a great reminder of why -
I BELIEVE !

In this time of desperation
When all we know is doubt and fear
There is only one Foundation
We believe, we believe
In this broken generation
When all is dark, You help us see
There is only one Salvation
We believe, we believe
     Chorus:
We believe in God the Father
          We believe in Jesus Christ
We believe in the Holy Spirit
And He's given us new life
          We believe in the crucifixion
We believe that He conquered death
          We believe in the resurrection
And He's coming' back again, we believe
So, let our faith be more than anthems
Greater than the songs we sing
And in our weakness and temptations
We believe, we believe!
       Chorus:
We believe in God the Father
           We believe in Jesus Christ
We believe in the Holy Spirit
And He's given us new life
           We believe in the crucifixion
We believe that He conquered death
           We believe in the resurrection
And He's coming' back again, we believe
Let the lost be found and the dead be raised!
In the here and now, let love invade!
Let the church live love our God will save
We believe, we believe!
And the gates of hell will not prevail!
For the power of God, has torn the veil!
Now we know Your love will never fail!
We believe, we believe!
      Chorus:
We believe in God the Father
          We believe in Jesus Christ
We believe in the Holy Spirit
And He's given us new life
          We believe in the crucifixion
We believe that He conquered death
          We believe in the resurrection
And He's coming' back again, we believe
 And He's comin' back,
He's comin' back again!
He's comin' back again!
We believe!
We believe

The question each of us must ask is -
"Do you Believe?"
